The Ice Storm

Thursday night while Mary and I were sitting on the couch watching tv, we heard these loud cracks outside. Throughout the night we heard them. In the morning I found out it was trees and tree limbs, snapping from the weight of the ice. Since early Friday morning we have been without electricity. Last night, while Mary worked, the kids and I slept together in the living room. Here is our supply of candles, flashlights and lanterns. Here are some of the tree branches that fell down across the street from us. We were lucky that we have no trees hanging over our house. We have been eating out so we don't have to open the refrigerator. Luckily, our friend Ray lent us a spare generator which we have been using to heat the house and keep the refrigerator powered. Mary's thumbs up (above) for the Chalet in Andover is because when she asked for a spoon to take with our dessert which we packed to go, the waitress told us she would have to charge us 35 cents, whah? We are all sleeping in front of the fireplace again tonight (night number two.)
