The Strawberry Festival

Mary worked last night, so this morning the kids and I had a picnic breakfast on the Merrimack with Nana while Mary caught up on some sleep. Robby and Ben were pretending to be firemen before we left. I snapped this picture of Ben after we finished our little picnic. We headed over to Matthew's house, but nobody was there so we visited a yard sale in their neighborhood and bought a couple popsicles and a dozen books for $5 - too cool! As we left we ran into Tim, Joshua and Matthew. The kids were psyched! We headed back to play for awhile before returning home. When we got home, we found two more yard sales in the neighborhood. Mary let each of the kids pick out one toy. Ben picked out a steam roller and Robby picked out a huge Star Wars space ship. Then we headed back home for lunch and a nap, before the Strawberry Festival. Robby slept a real long time, and we were debating whether to wake him, when he woke up. He was still in a bad mood when we got in the car and headed to the Westford Commons. He was in much better spirits when we arrived and shared a big strawberry shortcake. Full of sugar, the kids had plenty of energy to play. Robby had fun flying his new spaceship. While Ben played with his bulldozer. Somehow I managed to get the kids to stand still for one second to take a photo with Mommy. While Robby and I were exploring outer space we found some space caterpillars. Too cool! Ben liked the way they tickled as they walked. My three favorite things.
