Somewhere In Time
After a quick Big Boy breakfast, we took the Arnold ferry to Mackinac island today.
Since cars are not allowed on the island, we all decided to rent bikes and ride around the perimeter of the island. Robby and I shared this cool tandem bike.
Miki was on her own.
Mary road with Ben in tow (who promptly took his afternoon nap.)
Mary snapped this picture of Robby and I on the tandem. Cool huh?
Mats had his own cool bike.
And Grandpa chauffered along Charlie.
After about five miles we all took a break at Devil's Rock.
Then we pedaled just a little bit further to get to this big playground, where we all decided to lounge just a bit.
Charlie didn't waste any time.
I think Ben was still waking up.
Mats climbing the mountain.
I asked Robby to give me his best stoic look. I don't think he knows what stoic means.
I tried to help Ben, but of course he said.
"I CAN DO IT!"
Oooh there's the stoic look.
Me and my sweetie. I love you!
Grandpa and his sweetie.
Mats the dare devil.
Then the kids decided to play a game. It was the Ben and Charlie are trying to get us game.
Robby and Mats did lap after lap trying to escape from the evil Ben and Charlie.
Ahhh! They're coming!
When we got back we returned out bikes and searched for some food. We had some yummy grub at CW cafe then ice cream at Ryba's before Grandpa, Miki, Mats and Charlie headed back to the ferry leaving us to adventure on our own.
Mary grabbed a map to see if she could figure out where The Grand Hotel was.
But first we stopped at the Butterfly Museum.
I liked the flowers myself.
Oooh, a butterfly.
As we headed towards The Grand Hotel, it started to rain. So, we ducked into a few stores and did a little shopping.
The rain was quick though, so we were able to make it to see The Grand Hotel from the movie Somewhere In Time.
We wanted to go and see the lobby, until we read this sign. Ooof!
