Basement Update - Week Two
The electrician and HVAC guy did a lot of work in the basement this week.
You can see all the wires dangling near the fuse box. I think he used those for testing. Up at the top of this picture you can see one of the recessed lighting fixtures installed.
You can see four recessed lights installed in the living area and one above the bottom of the stairs. Also, you can see an air duct in the center of the ceiling.
Along this wall you can see newly installed electric outlets with wires going in between the studs.
More outlets where the refrigerator and cabinets will be.
He even put an outlet in this tiny 1/4 height wall.
More outlets and some light switches in and around the bathroom.
The plmber installed the bath/shower unit although we had to order some new Kohler pieces to complete the installation. Hopefully they will arrive next week. You can also see the electric work was done for the ceiling lights and ventilation fan in the bathroom.
The bathroom closet appears to have a light switch inside it.
Some sort of new device is attached to the heating system. I think it is to help regulate air between the two zones.
The HVAC guy added a huge new ventilation arm off our heater/air conditioning system.
I am not sure if they had to cut that beam to get the ventillation in or if they planned it that way and had already cut it. But, it is pretty amazing how all of the vents and tubes and wires all come together.
You can see that tubing comes off the main ventilation arm to push the air throughout the basement.
The amount of ventilation coming off the HVAC system seems massive. It all seems to work real well though, as I take this picture the basement is nice and cool while it is in the high 80s and humid outside.
Last week they actually smashed down a portion of one of the walls in our dining room to appease the zoning people of Westford. The electrician rewired the elctricity. Hopefully they will help us get the trim back up and fix the flooring. Another week of solid progress.
