Basement Update - Week Five
This week the drywall guy completely finished the drywall and the plaster ceilings.
I walked downstairs Friday afternoon to inspect the latest work.
The white color of the finish made it look like they were almost done. Are we nearing the home stretch?
It looked so nice from the bottom of the stairs looking across the living area with the light streaming in through the windows.
I think the recessed lights still need some sort of finishing fixtures before they are finally done, so it blends into the ceiling better.
Looking across the basement from next to the sliders you can see the walls are all white, just waiting for trim some doors, electric fixtures and a couple coats of paint.
Lookin back towards the stairs from the sliders, you can see how the daylight really lights the place up.
Looking across from the fuse box room you can see all the space. I am really getting excited. We are getting very close.
There will be bookcases right here when everything is done.
The little closet under the stairs.
Looking across from the wall in front of the furnace.
Another one looking across from just outside the bathroom door. The drop ceiling still needs to be installed.
The bathroom is ready for a toilet, sink and vanity.
Another shot of the bathroom from just outside the bathroom door. The doors and trimming I think will arrive next week.
The bathroom closet in all white.
At the end of the closet (where there will soon be a door) you can see one of the small slivers of the basement that will remain unfinished, where the water shut-off valve and the ejector pump live.
Mr. ejector pump.
Looking back at the closet from next to the ejector pump.
Looking from the bathroom door out to the living area.
Looking back across the basement before the drop ceiling is installed.
Walking towards the sliders looking mostly up at the ceiling.
One more look at the wall of windows from where I hope to have a big tv for lounging and watching sox games. :-)
Can't you see the big tv already? Hehe
The drywall guy finished the red room for painting and trim too.
And the yellow room.
