Ring of Fire: The Emile Griffith Story

This USA Network documentary caught me off guard. The film revolves around a fight between six time world champion Emile Griffith and Benny "Kid" Paret. Paret was carried off in a strectcher after going down in the 12th round, and passed away 10 days later. The death of Paret left his family burdened with debt and Griffith with a scar that he would never shake. The film goes on to follow the lives of Paret's family and Griffith's interesting life after he hung up his gloves. The film comes to a emotional close when Emile Griffith meets Benny Paret's young son Benny Jr. A stellar film!
