Liberty

Ben, Robby and I woke up this morning and walked through Times Square to grab some breakfast at Dunkin Donuts. We checked out of our room and got an early bus past Macy's and The Empire State Building to the southern tip of Manhattan where we found these remains of the fallen World Trade Center. After waiting in a good sized line and going through security scanners, we were allowed on a boat to Liberty Island. Ben took this picture from the lower deck of the boat. When we got to the island, we took a relaxing walk around, stopping every once in awhile to snack and rest. Relaxing on Liberty Island. Ben took this one too. He likes to take pictures. All of us at Liberty Island. Mary and Loly met a guy from the Phillipines, who took our picture in front of the NYC skyline. We made it.. where's that banana? Robby and Ben giving their best statue imitation. The Statue of Liberty - Ahchoo! The close-up. When we got back from Liberty Island we found a dance troop performing and saw a bunch of artists asking to draw our pictures. Robby was very interested, so we gave it a go. I think he came out looking like such a big, serious boy. That's my Robby. Then Ben wanted one too. Then we walked North to the Big Bull on Wall Street. I was looking but didn't see Cramer anywhere. I wanted to go into the WTC Museum, but I still think the kids are too young for that. So, we just looked through the fence at the big hole where once stood two of the tallest buildings in all of New York City. We spent the next two hours trying to find a good restaurant in China Town. We were totally exhausted when we finally found this great vietnamese restaurant. We got so much yummy food and the prices were even cheaper than back home. With full tummy's we stopped at an Asian Bakery and I got a bubble tea before we headed back for the final leg of the bus tour. The bus was pretty full, so we had to sit on the lower level for the ride to Rockefeller Center. Ben sat with me. Mary sat with Robby and Anna across from us and Loly sat in front of Ben and I. After a bit of a fight, Ana fell asleep as we pulled on the highway heading out of New York City. The kids sat in the back enjoying watching The Goonies. I sat in the middle seats with Anna, and Mary and Loly sat up front as we headed home.
