Air Tran Sucks
We should have known it was going to be a long night.
Guy dropped us off at the airport just before 7pm. We checked in quickly, then headed over to the Airtran kiosk to see if everything was on schedule. That is when we saw this wonderful error message covering the screen. All of the other airlines had their screens displaying nicely the arrivals and departures. But Airtran, uh no.
It wasn't until we got to our gate that we found out our flight was delayed by one hour. Then we waited an hour to find out it was delayed another hour and... even worse, if we wait that hour, we will miss our connection in Atlanta.
We were happy to just make it on a plane.
The kids and Mary crashed while I read a little.
We landed in Atlanta at about 1am.
We were given a discount voucher for a hotel, but our flight out in the morning was at 7am. So, basically if we went to the hotel we would only be able to sleep for 3 or 4 hours then we would have to come right back. So, we were not sure what to do. I begged and pleaded for mercy with one of the Airtran agents, so that she would not charge us 75 per ticket to change our tickets from 7am to noon so we could actually go back to a hotel and get some sleep. I think she had kids.
When we got to the hotel shortly after 2am, we found out because of the storms in Atlanta, lots of people missed their connecting flights. So, we had to wait in a long line to get a room.
I have no idea how the kids stayed in such good spirits. I guess they were just happy to get to stay up late one night. But, we all crashed real quick once we got back to our room.
