The film opens with a man walking aimlessly across the desert southwest, before being picked up by the local authorities. The man, ruined by his past, tries his best to pick up the pieces after his brother gets word of his situation, and takes him in at his home in LA. There, the man rediscovers his son, who his brother and brother's wife have taken in as their own. Bent on trying to make things right, he tries to reunite the family which he has toren apart.
