Do you ever sit by yourself and think.. then along comes a smile?
Today, I was reading this article when I couldn't help but to smile thinking about the future. Taking Robby and Ben fishing, boating and hiking. Going camping as a family. Strolling in the woods with Mary. Makes me think back to this day at the beach...
I got home from work tonight early, so I got to see Robby eating dinner. I wish I took a picture of him sitting in his highchair, face covered with ketchup (from his hotdog), wearing his bib with no shirt underneath. Too cute.
After I put Robby to bed I played with Ben for at least an hour. It seems like there are a few things I can do that help soothe him when he is upset: He likes sucking on my pinky finger (although he doesn't seem to like pacifiers or anyone else's finger so much.) He likes it when I hold him in my arms and swing him back and forth. He likes it when I lay him on his play mat and hold a mirror or colorful objects in front of him, while his musical butterfly toy is playing. He likes burping and being held close and upright when he has gas. And, he likes to hear my voice, sometimes I will sing Twinkle Twinkle to him.
