MS Walk
16 May 2004

My best friend, Mike was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis almost three years ago. It has been a tough three years for him. I did not know much about Multiple Sclerosis before he was diagnosed. When I first found out, I remember reading this description: Imagine yourself walking across a room, and suddenly losing your balance and no longer being able to walk. People with Multiple Sclerosis live every day of their life in fear of moments like this.

Someday someone will find a cure for MS. It is for this reason that I have pledged my support to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society with an epledge in honor of Mike. Today, Robby and I, along with Uncle Bob, Scott and Becky walked with several thousand people to show our support.

Halfway through our walk, Scott spotted this hollow tree on the edge of the Charles River. Robby was a bit spooked by the idea of a hollow tree, but decided he would pose for a picture if his daddy would hold him tight.

When Robby and I got home from Boston, we were suprised to find out our next door neighbor cooked us lasagna for dinner to celebrate the arrival of little Ben. Turns our Robby really loves lasagna. He had a rough night though because he was a bit overtired from the exciting day in the city. When I went upstairs to check on him after I had put him down in his crib (and heard him crying shortly after) he just wanted to hold my hand all night, and kept talking about how he got to ride the choo-choo (subway) today.

Ben is one week old today. :)
